Drew Bentley

Drew Bentley is an award-winning art director and graphic designer who grew up on a family farm in northern Minnesota. He credits his strong work ethic to his farmer father and his vocation to his artist mother.

After earning a BA in illustration from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Drew began his creative career at Black Design, a local Minneapolis advertising agency. At Black, he worked on the agency’s biggest client, Target. His work at Black helped him land his next graphic design job at Life Time Fitness. And that is when, as they say, he cut his teeth. Creating the master brand for the company’s premium athletic events, such as the Leadville Race Series, the Life Time Tri Series, and Turkey Day 5k. All the while freelancing through the weekends to independently create branding for the non-profit, Free Bikes 4 Kidz as well as the packaging design for Minnesota craft beer company, Lucid Brewing.

During that period Drew discovered his passion for health and wellness which prompted him to make a move to Colorado to work for Amelie Co. At the Denver agency, he worked on design projects for French sports equipment company Babolat, Delta Dental, and the Colorado Department of Transportation, for which he created several sub-brands, such as Bustang, CDOT’s Interregional Express Bus service.

Drew was quickly recognized by another Denver-based agency, LRXD, positioned as a Health & Happiness Advertising Agency. At LRXD, Drew collected a handful of global design awards, handled brand identity, television and web design duties for LRXD clients including TRUETONiQS, CorePower Yoga, Pass it On, Hubert’s Lemonade, Which Wich and Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill.

After years of working on a myriad of wholesome brands, it became apparent to Drew that his favorite part of the industry was package design. It was that revelation combined with his experience and lifestyle that dovetails him to his current position as Senior Designer and creative leader for Interact, the Boulder-based agency. And while Drew Bentley doesn’t drive a Bentley, he does rebuild cars and rides anything with two wheels. He resides in Boulder, and when he’s not working, he’s outside.
